Dealing with Preteens

Are you struggling to live with a child who is not yet a teenager but who is acting like one? Did you nine year old suddenly become sullen, argumentative and rude? ? Have you heard about the new developmental phase called ?preteens?, ?tweens? or ?preteenagers?? As a clinical psychologist, I am well versed in development and how each stage brings with it new and different struggles. When I trained in the 1970?s, there were infants, toddlers, children, teenagers and adults. In the past decade, we have seen the emergence of a new developmental phase called the tweens. It can start from 8 years and but for most people it is obvious around ten years of age. If you have a child between the ages of 8 and 12, who has become difficult to handle, then you will benefit from listening to this audio recording in the following ways: ? You will find out what defines a pre-teenager and feel less confused. ? You will learn lots of effective strategies to manage your tween better. ? The tone of your home will change from being hostile and negative to being calmer and more cooperative. It is quite simple to obtain all this valuable information. All you need to do is purchase this audio and listen to it. You will find it easy to understand and practical. You will be able to implement strategies immediately. Many parents are frightened by the behaviours they see manifest in preteenagers and believe this stage is unmanageable. Parents have told me that they believe that all they can do is ?shut up and cough up? and ride the storm till it is over. My experience has disproved this. I have found that there is a lot parents can do to smooth the bumpy ride called preadolescence. Finding information on this phase of development is not easy. Most of it pertains to medical and bodily aspects of this phase. This audio therefore provides valuable insights that cannot be obtained anywhere else.
